The 18-year-old has been in fantastic form this season and the Daily Mail say Arsenal, Chelsea, Red Bull Salzburg and Galatasaray have been taking an interest.

Clubs in Italy and France were monitoring Akman’s progress too, but City appear to have won the race for his signature. Sports Illustrated say the deal is worth €1.5m (£1.33m) and includes a 20% sell-on clause.

Akman is expected to be loaned back to Bursaspor for the remainder of the season and will be available to the Sky Blues in 2021/22. With nine goals and three assists in 16 Super Lig games, it’s easy to see why Pep Guardiola wants the 18-year-old.

No City player have scored more goals than Raheem Sterling (4) in the Premier League this season, but Akman boasts more than twice as many. Fans won’t get to see the Turkish U21 international for another six months, but they should be excited from his antics at the Bursa Büyükşehir Belediye Stadyumu.
