Issa Kabore joined Olympique Marseille on loan from Manchester City as he wasn’t in Pep Guardiola’s plans for the campaign, but the 21-year-old isn’t having the best time at the Orange Vélodrome as he’s struggling for games.
Kabore has made three appearances from a possible 10 this season, though he wasn’t at the club for their first two Ligue 1 outings. He’s amassed just 86 minutes of football, spending more time on the bench than the pitch.
The Burkina Faso international failed to make the matchday squad in Marseille’s 2-1 win over FC Nantes (August 20), was given 12 minutes from the bench in their 3-0 win over OGC Nice (August 28) and was an unused substitute in the 1-0 win over Clermont Foot (August 31).
In September, Kabore played for 67 minutes in Marseille’s 2-0 win over AJ Auxerre (September 3), was an unused substitute in their 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur (September 7) and 2-1 win over LOSC Lille (September 10).
The 21-year-old was given seven minutes of football from the bench in the 1-0 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt (September 13) and was an unused substitute in the 1-1 draw with Stade Rennais (September 18), so he’s not having a good loan spell away with just one league appearance since August.
And with Joao Cancelo and Kyle Walker for competition back at City, Kabore doesn’t stand a chance of playing under Guardiola.
