During the 1994/95 campaign Manchester City spent a mere £30,000 on new players. Season 2009/10 and the figure is £86 million, and rising.

Some of the following data will not be 100% accurate as clubs (including MCFC) these days avoid letting the public know exactly how much a player costs. Nevertheless I think it’s worth spending a few minutes of your time looking at how times have changed.
