A Bridge Too Far

Manchester City have confirmed that Wayne Bridge could miss the rest of the season after undergoing a hernia operation.

The Manchester City left-back has featured heavily in the media over the past month due to the shag-your-best-friends-missus-gate affair, and he now looks to slip firmly out of the limelight, and out of contention for the end of season run-in.

Bridge has already missed 13 games this season due to a serious knee injury and is now set to be out for at least another month.

City boss Roberto Mancini has Javier Garrido, Sylvinho and hot prospect Greg Cunningham at his disposal, however, losing Bridge is undoubtedly a big blow to the clubs Champions League ambitions, the back-four having only just showed signs of gelling.

Can City still qualify without the experienced 28-year-old, or will it prove a Bridge too far?
