Sergio Aguero has spoken in an interview on his official site today of his first two weeks of City life and of his gratitude to The Blues for giving him a big opportunity…
Talk about breaking the mould. City’s eagerly awaited and world coveted new forward has clearly taken to The Manchester Club and in his words has: ‘A big opportunity ahead.’
Kun is impressed by his welcome at The Etihad Stadium and Carrington:
‘City is a club with a very serious project that will allow me to keep on progressing in football. I am 23 years old and very much still learning.
I have been here scarcely two weeks but I can already say that I came to a big institution…They are super professionals. They are treating me very well. There is a a big squad and a big motivation here. I have much gratitude to City for giving me this opportunity.’
The Argentinian livewire goes on to praise Pablo Zabaleta for his friendship and how well he feels he is settling into training.
He also has a say on the Community Shield defeat to the rags:
‘It was a pity…It would have been good to win it, but this is early days and there is a long way to go…we can aspire to big things and I have a big desire to make my debut on Monday against Swansea.’
When asked about the difficulty he could find in adapting to a new culture and country his reaction is straight forward:
‘On the contrary. I will grow and benefit from the experience. It won’t be easy but I will do everything I can not to waste this opportunity. I am taking English classes four times per week. It’s like going back to school! The good thing is I can practice every day.
‘I am tweeting in two languages. The translations are helping me.’
Kun even spoke of the Manchester riots:
‘I tried hard to understand it and gave it a lot of attention. I spoke with my team mates and read some articles. The society has gone against it and that is important. Fortunately it is calmer now.’
This leads us into the big question. How does he find MCR?:
‘My wife and son Ben are here with me and we’ve been looking for a house. We’ve seen some beautiful places and good restaurants.’
He goes on to talk again of Pablo Zabaleta’s support and then the language gets a bit too deep for this VMC correspondent!
Following a viewpoint on driving on the ‘wrong side of the road,’ back to the football and the will to be champions:
‘It is a special motivation and we all want to play and win.’
