It’s hardly surprising really is it?

Most of us would have expected this after he went off against Crystal Palace, particularly with his knee so heavily iced at Selhurst Park, but Sergio Aguero will miss Man City’s opening Champions League game on Tuesday.

Raheem Sterling and David Silva should be back though!

Manuel Pellegrini, after he missed training, confirmed Aguero’s injury at Palace will keep him out of the Juventus game – and maybe West Ham on Saturday – but Sterling and Silva should return after training this morning.

Speaking to the media ahead of this opening group game with the Italian club, Pellegrini said he was hopeful the Argentina international will be back for the weekend but we’ll know more when scan results are in.

‘Sergio is not fit.

‘I hope he will be OK for the weekend but we must wait to see the result of the scans.’

There’s no denying what a miss Aguero is for City, however we’ve got quality in this squad and confidence is sky high at the moment! It goes without saying we would sooner have him playing than not and we’ll want him back sooner rather than later though!

Sterling’s hamstring strain kept him out of the weekend as did Silva’s ankle knock but both returning for Juve’s visit to the Etihad Stadium, as seems the case, will help ease the Sergio disappointment slightly.
