Aguero’s Injuries Are far Too Frequent & Worrying

I am a little fed up for want of a better word with Sergio and his hamstring saga. How many times is he going to be out this season??? This is the time we need him most. As well as the limited goals we are managing to scrape without him it seems his absences have had a knock on effect with Negredo (whose he I hear you ask). He just seems to have gone into hiding along with Jovetic and his injury syndrome.  Dzeko seems to have purchased a sat-nav to show him where the back of the net is (looking back at his Hull goal). Again, I find us relying on the likes of Silva, Nasri and Fernandinho to come up with a goal or two. It just isn’t right!!

I will admit we are extremely patient of Aguero as his time on the pitch earns plaudits and praise but eventually patience has to run out. Yes I know he has scored a vast amount of goals and this adds strength to the ‘mess’ we find ourselves in when he is not around.

I suppose we have gotten used to him being absent but that doesn’t necessarily mean we have to like it.

As it stands at the moment my patience with Dzeko has gone way out of the window but last season I have to admit that Dzeko even out scored Aguero – now that is some mean feat plus Dzeko made fewer starts than Aguero!. Then when you look back to December / January, Aguero was out for a month and then when he came back he was then absent for the whole of February and now he is out again. I cannot express how much we need him back and fast. I accept Pellegrini and even Aguero himself has said it isn’t serious but please it seems pretty serious to me to be absent for so long.  For something that is seemingly minor has turned out to be something that is extremely major and one illness / injury leads to another ad infinitum.

So again, I ask ‘how long can we patiently wait for him to come back and start scoring again’?? and as Aguero has extended his contract through to 2017 I don’t want this extension to be riddled with hamstring injuries and the like.

I don’t sound too harsh do I?? but to my way of thinking if you have the likes of Real Madrid begging for his services then if the fitness side of things doesn’t drastically improve then I would say sell him to the highest bidder and buy someone else in. He may be able to perform better as there are not so many games to play in La Liga compared to the EPL plus the pressure isn’t as bad.

Pellegrini has some hard facts to face if Aguero’s fitness does not improve because we cant keep going through the pressure of will he wont he play, its just too distressing.

I am not purposely having a dig at Aguero as we only have to look at Jovetic, his injury syndrome is as frustrating as Aguero’s and neither Dzeko nor Negredo are half the footballer Aguero is but if we want to succeed in any of the Leagues we have to stack that central defence / forwards and that will come at a fine price I guarantee but it will be money well spent if we are to firmly make our mark on either the European Leagues or the English League and if the likes of Real Madrid want to buy him then I would say we should seriously look at the offer, the fitness and the money’s worth of Aguero, in fact, all our strikers!!!.

Now if per chance Aguero does a Tevez (after his 6 month absence) and barnstorms the league and we win with ease then I shall fall on my sword.
