After 10 loyal years Nicky Weaver is leaving City for The Addicks on a free. I am sure all Blues will join me in wishing Weaves all the luck in the world following his battle to fight back from career threatening injury and his loyalty to the cause.

Those penalty shoot out heroics at Wembley in 1999 against The Gills will live long in the memory and barring that rapid second promotion too soon under Joe Royle City certainly would not have stood a chance of becoming an established Premier League club without players like Weaver’s contribution.
