The speculation in the press is that we are chasing Sergio Aguerro as a replacement for Tevez. Now despite the dodgy offer from Corinthians which in my opinion is never going to happen, Tevez has said all along that a move to Spain would suit him, as it is ‘culturally similar’ to Argentina, and his family would be willing to move there.
The general feeling was that Real Madrid would be his likeliest destination, given the fact they have the financial clout to not only pay the transfer fee we are seeking but also pay for Tevez’s substantial wages.
We are allegedly holding out for £50m for Tevez, whilst it has been widely reported that Atletico will not accept less than £45m for Aguerro. Noises from the Aguerro camp would seem to indicate the player would more than happily come to Manchester, so all that remains is the negotiation of a suitable fee with Los Rojiblancos.
Now I don’t think I’m alone in feeling rather fed up with the whole Tevez and Kia circus and would love to get rid of the guy ASAP, preferably without compromising too much on the fee we receive. So putting 2+2 together, why not offer Atletico a straight swap for Tevez? If he is genuinely only seeking a move for the good of his family (yeah right!) and it’s not all about money, then why would Tevez refuse a move to Madrid?
Los Colchoneros might not have the same appeal as Real Madrid, but that’s not the point according to Carlos, and I suspect a lot of Citizens would have a quiet chuckle at the thought of a slightly miffed Tevez having to settle for a move to Madrid`s second team when he had his sights set on somewhere slightly more glamorous! We’d be getting rid of a major pain in the backside, whilst Tevez will be leaving the town with only two restaurants, and Atletico would be getting a great player at the top of his game. Makes perfect sense to me!
