Premier League regular Anthony Taylor has been appointed to take charge of this weekend’s FA Cup Fifth Round tie between Huddersfield Town and Manchester City.

Born in Wythenshawe, Manchester in 1978 the 38-year-old experienced match official was, in 2010 promoted to the list of Select Group Referees who officiate primarily in the Premier League, and in 2013 became a listed referee for FIFA allowing him to referee European and international matches.

Taylor is a self-confessed non-league side Altrincham supporter.

Out of a total of 28 games Taylor has brandished 109 yellow and three red cards.
