Manchester City won 2-0 against West Ham United on Wednesday evening but supporters had some qualms about the performance of Gabriel Jesus. The 22-year-old was guilty of missing three big chances in the first-half and could have had a hat-trick on another day.
Jesus missed his first one-on-one with Lukasz Fabianski after hesitating on the ball and trying to round the goalkeeper. The Brazilian international missed his second by failing to shoot with his weaker foot, leading to Aaron Cresswell getting back to block his shot. He missed a third opportunity after curling a tame effort into Fabianski’s hands.

If only Jesus was a proper number 9, Aguero is our only striker. #MCFC

Well that was pretty straightforward really, shame Jesus left his shooting boots at home, he should have had a hattrick, Kev sublime as usual so on we go Blues. #MCFC

Good performance just what the dr ordered. Fair to say Jesus had a bit of a mare infront of goal. How good was KDB though jheez, passing, shooting, workout all there as usual but also tracking back, tackles, interceptions all on point tonight. #ComeOnCity #MCFC 💙

Against West Ham, Jesus played for 90 minutes, made 60 touches, created two chances, had four shots with 50% accuracy, completed 89.7% of his 39 passes, found a teammate with both long balls, made three tackles, drew two fouls, made five successful dribbles and made one interception.
The 22-year-old has made 34 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring and creating 25 goals. Jesus looked short of confidence on Wednesday and needs to stop second-guessing himself when through on goal as he spurned good opportunities.
