Arsenal – The Aftermath

Vital Manchester City newbie, mplctid sent us the following:

Well it seems the Arsenal and London centric press are having an Adebayor based field day in the post match hyperbole. Now shall we get the facts straight?

First and foremost it was a terrific full blooded end to end game – in all seriousness the match could have ended 5-4 either way!

Secondly, and most importantly, at the end of the day City stuffed a top four team and put the result to bed in a devastating 10 minutes 2nd half spell. If the jaw-dropping City had been our Manchester rivals I`m convinced the red tops would have been left drooling.

Thirdly, the incredible hypocrisy. No excuses for the stamping incident and I expect and would not argue against Adebayor receiving a ban, but obviously a bit of afters from old Arsenal team mates who clearly have little regard for each other. However how many times have we seen Rooney stamp/kick/threaten his way through a match with little more than a passing comment in the media.

Compared to the full navel examination one is getting, this is typically appalling journalism as usual. Allied this to the fact that Van Persie a) Was particularly abusive to the City support in the stand where I was after he scored (not mentioned in the press) and b) tried to take Adebayor out of the game prior to the stamp hardly given much notice then yet again welcome to the street of shame – you lazy bandwagon jumping journalists.
