The Arsenal and Spurs had been tracking the exciting 19 year old but their hopes of attracting the player down south were dashed as the midfielder signed a two and a half year deal at Eastlands.
Assulin told th’official site:
‘I had heard a lot about City, and as soon as I saw the club I wanted to stay. I’m at a great club and I hope to be here a long time. I have to take my opportunity and learn every day in training.’
The Israeli international left Barca in July at the end of his contract.
