According to the Daily Telegraph Aston Villa have made tentative enquires about taking Emmanuel Adebayor off Manchester City’s hands.

The paper said the Togolese striker’s £160,000-a-week wages at City would be a major stumbling block that would scupper any likelihood of a permanent transfer, but Villa manager Gerard Houllier is understood to be keen to explore the possibility of a six-month loan deal due to concerns over the form and fitness of his current pool of forwards at Villa Park.

Ade has only managed eight Premier League games this season and is known to be way down the pecking order to an extent that he struggles to get a reserve game. In fact rumour has it the 75-year-old tea lady is thought to have more of a chance of getting into Mancini’s starting 11 than Adebayor.

What a pity especially as we Blues had high-hopes for the 6 foot 2 inch ‘Bambi-on-ice’ look-alike.
