Rodri has been a fantastic signing for Manchester City, making the defensive-midfielder spot his own since replacing Fernandinho, and Fichajes say his performances have got the attention of Barcelona who are looking to replace Sergio Busquets next summer.
The 34-year-old still commanding a starting place under Xavi but is out of contract at the Camp Nou in 2023 and may not have his deal renewed. Busquets is reportedly keen to join Inter Miami of the MLS, so Barca will need to find his successor.

Fichajes say Rodri fits the bill in Xavi’s mind but may cost €100m (£89.2m) to sign. City would probably reject such an offer unless the 24-year-old requested a transfer as he’s vital in the engine room.
Rodri turns over the ball 1.9 times per game on average, makes 92.4 passes per game, completes 92.4% of his passes and creates 0.6 chances per game. He also has an 80% dribble success ratio and has won 23/33 aerial duels, so it’s easy to see why Barca would want him.
It’s also easy to see why City won’t want to let him go, so the Catalan giants might have some convincing to do.
