Joey Barton would appear to be in trouble again for reportedly failing to turn up for treatment on his injured knee over the weekend according to newspaper reports. If true, this does not look good, particularly at a time when his team mates were turning in a gallant performance at Upton park and were unlucky not to come away with at least a point, mainly thanks to the incompetant match officials.

It’s not clear whether the club intends to take any action or whether they sanctioned him missing the session, but once again Joey is attracting the sort of attention that none of us like to hear and see.

With the worst run of straight defeats for over 10 years, we need all our players to be fit and available for the last few matches so that City can finish in a the top half of the table, rather than ending up just above the relegation zone.

Let’s hope Joey and all the other players on the extensive injury list are taking personal responsibility for getting fit as soon as they possibly can and fight for their place back in the team.
