Although details are still sketchy, Joey Barton has been named as the City player banned by the club untill the end of the season.

Manchester City issued the following statement this afternoon.

The Club`s Head of Communications Paul Tyrrell said: “We can confirm that a player has been suspended until the end of the season, pending an internal investigation into a training incident at the Carrington complex.

“The Club will be making no further comment at this time.”

Although the club are not yet releasing a name all media sources have identified Barton as the player suspended.

Eye witnesses at Carrington have confirmed that there was a serious incident involving Dabo and Barton and that Dabo left the training ground in an ambulance.

Until more details become apparant I am loathe to comment too much. Needless to say things aren’t quite as harmonious as the management would have us believe.

As for Barton? I would hazard a guess that his MCFC career is over if he is found to be to blame.

Just what we needed before the derby.
