Ian Cheeseman shows us around Basel and then talks to former players, City fans and much more. If you haven’t seen his vlog then may I suggest you do as it’s up there with the very best? Nice one Cheesy!

Official highlights

Goals from Ilkay Gundogan (2), Bernardo Silva and Sergio Aguero simply blew Basel away.

Player Ratings

Ederson 7
Cool as a cumber between the sticks – cracking save from Elyounoussi but other than that he had little to do.

Kyle Walker 7.5
Old head on young shoulders. Kyle has come on leaps and bounds since his arrival and yet again put in another solid shift.

Vincent Kompany 6
First Champions League appearance for nearly two years and it showed. A tad slow at times and on the odd occasion made lazy passes.

Nicolas Otamendi 7
Played only slightly better than our Captain. Looked a little rusty nevertheless, he coped with what Basel had to offer with ease.

Fabian Delph 8
First appearance for a month but you wouldn’t have thought he’d been away. Solid as a rock within the back four. Nothing phased him. Put simply this man should be going with England to the 2018 World Cup.

Kevin De Bruyne 7.5
City’s first goal came from Kevin’s inch perfect cross onto Gundogan’s noggin. Came close to adding City’s fourth within first-half.

Fernandinho 7.5
Bossed the midfield as if he was a General. Good all round performance.

Ilkay Gundogan 9.5
German coach Joachim Low, who was in the crowd must have been impressed by IIkay’s overall performance. His best of the season by far – headed City’s first, curled the second and should / could have had three.

Bernardo Silva 9
Ball control is a joy to watch (how does he do it?). Amazing skill when he came up with an exquisite volleyed finish for City’s second. His best game in a City shirt – simples!

Raheem Sterling 6.5
Provided the cross for Bernardo to score City’s second but at times looked out of sorts. Weird performance and unlike Raheem. I suppose anyone can have an off day.

Sergio Aguero 8
Cracking 25-yard strike for 198 City career goal. Assisted Gundogan’s second. Did nothing world-class but didn’t have to. A City legend.

Leroy Sane 5.5
Didn’t look filly fit. Came on for Sterling (57).

David Silva 6
First appearance since his muscle injury. Replaced KDB (63).
Replaced Sergio (86 mins). No time to mark.
