Beckenbauer Beggars Belief

Franz Beckenbauer believes England look tired and burnt out. Oh really? Perhaps the kraut should concentrate on his own affairs rather than spurting spurious comments.

Millions of us English fans watched the game against Slovenia yesterday afternoon and I for one didn’t witness a single England player who looked tired or burnt out. In fact it was totally the opposite. Perhaps the ‘sauerkraut’ should worry about Germany coming a cropper on Sunday.

Franz Beckenbauer told the press…

‘Stupidly, the English have slipped up a little by finishing second in their group.’

‘The English look a little tired…they are burnt out. We respect them but we certainly don’t fear them.’

Defending the Three Lions

As a Manchester City supporter I have obviously been keeping a close eye on the three Blues. Joe Hart has so far not featured and understandably so, especially as David James looks so comfortable between the sticks. Shaun Wright-Phillips has done nothing wrong but my hat comes off to Gareth Barry. The 29-year-old has featured in Capello’s team since recovering from injury and in my opinion he has been a stalwart in England’s midfield.

Beckenbauer

This is not the first time the German has made derogatory comments directly aimed at the English style of play, their players or at the world’s most entertaining domestic league on the planet. So I say this: ‘Come 5pm on Sunday I wonder which country will look tired and burnt out?’

England fans

I really hope we can expect a similar scenario at the weekend.
