Craig Bellamy is due to return back from holiday shortly and will be hoping to commence pre season training somewhere…

…and that somewhere could yet be at Manchester City’s Carrington training complex.

The Welsh firebrand who turns 32 years old next month has ended his predominantly City funded season long loan with hometown club Cardiff and remains very much a Citizen under contract.

Bellers joined City from West Ham United in January 2009 for a fee of £14 million making 41 League and Cup starts and scoring 15 goals. There are many Blues who still believe that the speedster could still do a job for City in an imminent Champions League committed season, but the players tendency to be outspoken saw him shipped out by Roberto Mancini in advance of City’s ultimately successful last campaign.

New Cardiff boss Malky Mackay has already praised the player and the Bluebirds hierarchy have confirmed that they will approach City again next month over Bellamy’s services. However, this time around City will surely demand a transfer fee.

The question is how much could City hope to recoup from Mark Hughes’ hotly pursued outlay?
