Sky Sports crystal balls are shining bright about Man City this week. City’s big Ecuadorian striker Felipe Caicedo is in talks with West Ham over a loan move…

The feverish activity at SportCity continues in all directions as certain players slowly arrive to check in for departure.

Caicedo, a burly lad who beefed up considerably last year was a Sven-Goran Eriksson signing from FC Basle in January 2008 for £5,200,000. This was another of the fees that Thaksin Shinawatra’s people arranged in instalments. The mind boggles over european football’s standing orders.

He has immense promise and was loaned out to Sporting Lisbon and Malaga last season in a bid to get games under his belt. In truth he didn’t set either club alight and returned to Carrington last month with his career at a crossroads.

In Sky Blue, Cass did enough to see VMC regulars call for him to be kept on last season but Mark Hughes brought in Roque Santa Cruz and the 21 year old became surplus to requirements.

The Hammers are now in talks with all the relevant parties in a bid to bring the striker to London. Interestingly, reports suggest that City Football Administrator Brian Marwood might be intent on keeping options open on Caicedo by agreeing an Onuoha style loan agreement.
