Chelsea v Manchester City betting preview

Man City fans, I’m sure you’ll make a case to disagree, but Betting Pro are backing Chelsea!

Matthew Glazier of www.bettingpro.com expects Jose Mourinho`s team to win Sunday`s crunch Premier League clash

It`s pretty easy to make a case for a Chelsea victory on Sunday. After all, they have won all four of their previous Premier League encounters at Stamford Bridge, while the Blues have also been victorious in six of the last seven – the odd one out being the 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane.

The recent icing on the cake for Jose Mourinho has been the fact that Samuel Eto`o and Fernando Torres have found their shooting boots, Eden Hazard has discovered some form and Juan Mata has realised he can play as long as his defending duties are realised.

Odds of 29/20 about a Chelsea victory seem pretty fair against a Manchester City team who might have recently won at Upton Park but were previously beaten by 3-2 scorelines at Cardiff and Aston Villa.

Chelsea will also enjoy an extra day`s rest / preparation for the game after City travelled back late from Moscow on Wednesday night, although the visitors will boast a striker in their ranks who Mourinho would probably have ahead of Eto`o, Torres or Demba Ba.

Sergio Aguero`s recent scoring form has been excellent and the Argentine has bagged a brace in his past two games while he did the same against Manchester United in the derby, although it isn`t every game that he will have to get past Gary Cahill and John Terry.

Vincent Kompany`s return to the heart of the defence is also a welcome boost for the Citizens, although it`s worth nothing that Chelsea have scored at least three goals in each of their last four games.

The net has started to bulge regularly partly because Hazard has located the goal and the Belgian simply loves to get into attacking positions for his team, with odds of 16/1 about the midfielder looking to big when it comes to First Goalscorer.

A victory for Chelsea will take them four points clear of City and make them title favourites, with Mourinho`s magic starting to once again infiltrate the club after previous seasons of botched efforts when it comes to challenging for Premier League honours.
