According to The Sun, Manchester City FC are set to beat Chelsea to the signing of highly rated Brazilian whiz kid, Rafael de Souza Rodolfo.
The newspaper claims Robinho has had a big part to play in persuading the player, known as Pernao in a move to Eastlands.
The 16-year-old striker is yet to play for the Fluminense first team but his development in the youth team has caught the eye of many of Europe’s big boys.
City were the quickest out of the starting blocks of all of the interested European clubs by secretly inviting the youngster to Manchester where he met his fellow Samba star, Robinho.
Mark Hughes is confident of tying up a £3m deal after talks with his family and club representatives. However, Pernao’s boss Renato Gaucho has warned him of making the move too soon:
