With City getting the all clear to continue the proposed summer moves, after UEFA confirmed the FFP restrictions have been lifted, we should start to see our official interest grow with more of the rumours and reports turning into concrete moves and all being well announcements of arrivals.

I say ‘should’ as I don’t want to be accused of being arrogant! I’m confident on plenty of high profile deals going ahead now but now the line is fine between confidence and arrogance….trust me though I’m in now way arrogant at all, honest!

The breaking of the British transfer record is something many would expect City to do this summer, although not for the sake of doing it of course, and this could come with our move for Paul Pogba? Wherever he ends up, with him almost certain to leave Juventus, the Frenchman will go for big, big money.

It does appear Barcelona is his ‘preferred destination’, which if that’s the case then it’s not too likely to matter how much money we offer his club we’ll not get him – we also wouldn’t want a player that doesn’t want the move to the club would we.

Reports continue to do the rounds that the 22-year-old WILL come though after Barcelona saw a £57m offer rejected with the Mirror claiming this weekend that a £71m British record fee offer will be submitted as we look to bring him back to Manchester.

My gut instinct with Pogba is he’ll not make this move to City, not as a reflection upon us at all but simply because he wants another move more….but we’ll see!
