City’s stylish retro versus modern cutting edge new home shirt can be pre-ordered online from Wednesday. Be one of the first in and you could make July’s free ‘Live From City’ gig…

The story is that City and Umbro will mark the launch of their megabucks new 10 year kit deal with an exclusive free ‘Live From City’ concert in the City of Manchester Stadium’s east car park on Friday, 17th July. Doves, one of town’s finest bands will be the headline act.

To get to see it, you must be one of the first 2,500 people to pre-order the new home shirt when it goes on sale at 9.00am on Wednesday, 1st July. The lucky punters will each be able to claim a pair of tickets.

Doves front man Jimi Goodwin led the plaudits for the club’s latest fan based project:

‘It is a great honour to be asked to headline this event. I’ve been a City supporter all my life, so playing to a crowd of 5,000 people with the City of Manchester Stadium in the background is going to be an amazing experience.’

Martin Prothero, who is Umbro’s Senior Vice President of Football added:

‘This is an exciting opportunity for both Umbro and Manchester City, two great Manchester brands, to thank the fans that have bought the new shirt. Manchester is as famous for its musical talent as its football and the joining of the two will mean ‘Live from City’ will be a memorable night for City fans.’

Doves will be supported by Hacienda DJ legend Mike Pickering, Twisted Wheel, Kid British and The Answering Machine.

Joining the acts will be young musicians from City’s ‘Kickz’ programme which offers kids from 12-18 years the chance to be part of positive activity.
