The 33-year-old FIFA listed referee took charge of City’s opening game of the season, away at Arsenal. On that occasion two Gooners and two City players, Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne received cautions.
Oh, and just in case you forgot, City won 2-0, with goals from Raheem and Bernardo.
Geordie-born Oliver has also taken charge of the game between Crystal Place and Liverpool, whereby two cautions and one red card were the order of the day.
Michael also showed red the following weekend when he sent off Huddersfield Town midfielder Jonathan Hogg during the goalless game against Cardiff. City’s Harry Arter went into the ref’s naughty book.
Last weekend (Tottenham vs. Liverpool) Oliver kept his cards in his pocket.
