The World Cup for Manchester City and Argentina striker Carlos Tevez is over for another four years, but with the start of the new Premier League campaign on the horizon what can we expect to see next season.

The 25-year-old Argentinean is currently on holiday following his country’s defeat against Germany in the World Cup quarterfinals last week, therefore the naturally gifted forward has understandably been given permission to stay away from City’s pre-season training camp until the middle of July. Even a work-horse like Tevez needs a break.

However, having scored 23-goals in just 35 first-team appearances last term can we expect to see more of the same?

Diego Maradona

Diego Maradona paid tribute to one of the most energetic players in the Premier League by saying..

‘When you watch him play, it seems like Carlos is on a set of batteries that just keep going and going. His work-rate is phenomenal.’

Season 2010/11

I for one expect to see Carlos coming out of the starting block like Linford Christie used to do all those years ago. Do you?
