City travel to south London looking for their first away win of the season and to record their first back to back victories for over a year.

Better Away Form?

Stuart Pearce talks about our away form

They`ve been awful and we`ve got to do something about it. We`ve got to start this weekend, hopefully,” said Pearce. We`ve been very, very disappointed on the road maybe on three occasions this season. I think at Reading we deserved something out of the game on the run of play and particularly with the first half performance.” “We need to make sure we turn our away form around otherwise we`re going to be going from one press conference to the next being either brilliant or it`s down in the doldrums.”

Charlton Athletic Team News:

Charlton have a relatively fully fit squad with only Traore and Lisbie missing from the line up. Jerome Thomas might be a late inclusion if he can prove his fitness.

Player to watch: Darren Bent

Was the premiership’s hottest property last season and has continued most of that form this season.

Manchester City Team News:

Most of City’s major injuries have eased with only Isaksson, Dabo and Sun still fully out. Ishmael Miller remains a doubt but now Pearce has his full compliment of four strikers to pick from it will be interesting to see who he goes with. Having Distin back will be a huge boost to Pearce as Dunne looked a shadow of himself without Sylvain alongside him at Wigan.

Player to watch: Hatem Trabelsi

Has real pace and some good touches that lead to real creativity.

Happy Hunting Ground?

We have only lost twice in the last 8 meetings at the valley and there has never been a 0-0 result between the two teams. Last season 5-2 was City’s best away performance for some time.

Ref Watch:

Chris Foy – has been poor for us in the past – but was first class for the home game against West Ham where he kept his cards in his pocket.

Match Prediction:

City to get its second away point of the season 1-1.

Next Fixtures:

Newcastle at Home – Early Kick Off – Saturday 11th at 12:45pm on Sky.
