Mark Hughes is preparing to raid his former club and bring Blackburn Rovers 6’4′ defender Christopher Samba to Manchester City.

The 24-year-old Frenchman’s agent, Leon Lambert told The Sun…

‘He was Mark Hughes’ discovery, who right now wants him at Manchester City. He could leave for £4million’.

Samba began his career at French club Sedan before moving to Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin in 2004.

Struggling to break into the first team, he was invited by Mark Hughes to undertake a five-day trial at Blackburn Rovers, eventually signing a three and a half year deal for £400,000 on January 25, 2007.

Having impressed, in October 2007, Samba signed a new five-year contract keeping the Republic of Congo international at Ewood Park until the summer of 2012.

Samba is described as strong in the air and surprisingly agile for his size on the ground.

What do you think? Is Samba worth £4million and would he want to leave Blackburn.
