City defenders in demand

Rumours are still persisting about the futures of Blues’ defenders Distin and Micah Richards.

It’s reported that ‘Boro are sniffing around Distin who has yet to sort out a new contract at City and his continued stalling will no doubt encourage clubs to tap him up. ‘Boro recently pulled out of a deal to sign Robert Huth, so they are keen to fill that gap quickly and Distin would seem to fit the bill, but who in their right mind with any big ambitions would want to play for ‘Boro ?

It would be a shame to see the skipper leave, as he’s been one of City’s successes in recent years, but you get the impression that he’s done his time at the club and if, as reported, bids of around £4m plus are being lined up, that is probably not bad business for the club.

More worrying I think is that Spurs are continuing their interest in rising star Micah Richards with an alleged bid of £5m already having rejected. Further rumours of Micah having also rejected a new contract offer from City are not good news and Psycho needs to move quickly to tie Micah up with a long term deal, as he will without doubt be England’s next right back.

Expect a few more twists in the tale before both these rumours resolve themselves one way or another.

p.s… Just seen the new United kit which by even their standards is seriously s**t. Reminds me of a retro 1960s ‘Boro-cum-Forest with a hint of Barnsley – hopefully sales will plummet!
