Manchester City have confirmed that midfielder Ousmane Dabo is likely to be out of action for up to six weeks as a result of as knee injury picked up in training.

Dabo had just returned from a three match ban for a unjustified red card against Reading but picked up a knock whilst training for last Saturday’s Everton game.

City boss, Stuart Pearce has confirmed the latest injury news, saying:

‘He damaged his knee ligaments in training on Thursday, and the timescale is about six weeks.

It’s Sod’s Law really, because he’s had a three-match suspension and now on the back of that he cops an injury as that finishes.

‘It’s disappointing for us because he was just starting to show some good form, but we have to handle it and whoever has his place needs to play well to keep his place.’

Although we’re only in October, this season is already reminding me of last years’ injury-ravaged season that only just saw us escape from the relegation dogfight.

There seems to be too far many injuries picked up in training these days which is putting the club’s thin resources under even more pressure.

I think it’s time to review our training methods and make some changes that reduce the risk of player injuries. Let’s leave the full-on contact stuff for match days in future.
