We’ve already seen today that David Pizarro has left the wage bill. Meanwhile, Emmanuel Adebayor is publicly hopeful of securing a permanent transfer to Tottenham…

The 28 year old Togo striker signed for Mark Hughes’ Blues just under three years ago for £25 million from Arsenal. Declaring love for City and receiving loyal support from the club and it’s support through incredibly difficult circumstances, the prolific striker did not see eye to eye with Roberto Mancini and subsequently moved out on loan to Real Madrid and then Spurs where 17 league goals propelled the North London club to a top four finish.

He has taken to Twitter to reveal his hopes of a Tottenham contract:

‘Loved my spell at Tottenham, we are working hard with the chairman to make it permanent. Will keep you informed!!’

In other fringe squad news, Owen Hargreaves’ pay as you play stay at the club is highly likely to be discontinued, despite the best efforts of all concerned to make it happen for a hard working player beset with terrible luck. He has been unable to see off a raft of injuries that come with long term lay offs.

Back To the Loan Rangers. City have a number of players returning from loan this summer and as in January, there will be another push to jettison the remaining unwanted big earners. The big question is, how many players can The Citizens hope to realistically send up the road?

Furthermore, of the younger generation who were sent out to build up their experience, who should Mancio aim to keep on the books?

Recent City Loan Stars:

Dedryck Boyata, Wayne Bridge, Greg Cunningham, Michael Johnson, Abdul Razak, Emmanuel Adebayor, Roque Santa Cruz, Alex Tchuimeni-Nimely, John Guidetti, Gunnar Nielsen, Vladimir Weiss and Abdisalam Ibrahim.
