City Rumours Volume 41

All a bit quiet on the rumour front as you’d expect during the World Cup, but a few are bouncing around:

Helder Postiga

Apparently we’re lining up a £3.4m bid for the ex-Spurs striker. I remember a lot of hype when he joined Tottenham, but he’s never really fulfilled all that potential and has been farmed around on loan deals ever since. The only thing I can really remember about him is that goal he scored against England in 2004 which led to us being knocked out on penalties for which he’s still not forgiven.

Dunno about this one; seems a strange one and the fee would effectively price himself out of City’s reach. It begs the question should City buy potential or proven ability?

Samir Nasri

‘City are poised’ to sign 19 year old Marseille midfielder Nasri, on a season-long loan.Marseille chairman Pape Diouf has confirmed an approach from City, but didn’t think a deal was in the offing as they want to keep him.

I’ve heard some good reports about this kid – fingers crossed, but sounds dead to me.

Juan Vargas

City reportedly trying to take the Peruvian defender on an extended loan deal. Vargas currently plays for Argentinian side Colon, ( which may suggest this rumour is a load of sh*t ) and has caught the attention of City scouts.

I have to say I’ve never heard of the guy, but perhaps could follow in footsteps of compatriot, Nobby Solano

Evander Sno

City have been linked with a move for Feyenoord defender/midfielder Evander Sno (named after heavyweight champ Holyfield) , who has previously had a trial at Everton last year.

Sno spent last season on loan at NAC Breda, and has been told that he can leave Feyenoord with a fee expected to be around £250k. Celtic and Bolton are also linked with him.

I guess this might all hinge on whether Distin and Mills go or stay, but he sounds in same mould as Richards and Onouha. Could be shrewd investment though.

Might be worth the £250k just so we could play SUN , SNO and REYNA in the same side 😉

Can anyone suggest some other ‘weather condition’ signings to make a complete set?
