Vital Manchester City understands that Blackburn Rovers has made NO approach for City striker, Roque Santa Cruz.

On 21 June 2009 Manchester City paid the Ewood Park club £17.5 million for the Paraguay international on a four-year deal, but one of the problems was that City signed him when he was already side-lined with an injury, and when he was finally pronounced fit he simply didn’t live up to expectations. Another one of previous Blues boss Mark Hughes blunders.

Once Sparky was out of the way Roberto Mancini soon realised the 29-year-olds future lay elsewhere and loaned the forward back to Blackburn with the understanding they had first dabs on a permanent transfer. Sadly Rovers are prepared to smash their transfer record in their search for a striker this summer but it’s not going to be RSC.

City is saddled with another useless player on massive wages and so what should the club do. Perhaps one idea is to terminate his contract by negotiation or sell him off on the cheap.
