City have today made their fourth signing of the summer after beating off competition from Spurs for the signature of Bulgarian international Martin Petrov.
Petrov joins the blues from Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid where he appeared 45 times, scoring three goals and providing ten assists.
Petrov is being brought in to fill the problem left wing position.
It is indicitive of the lure of Eriksson that City are able to attract a player of Petrov’s quality.
That Tottenham could offer European football, as well as a settled compatriot in Berbatov, and still couldn’t beat City to the player’s signature speaks volumes.
