City To Face Chelsea ‘Individuals’

City travel to Stamford Bridge this weekend with our strongest team in many years and have nothing to fear.

Chelski Rentaquote Foghorn Didier Drogba has been at it again in his by now almost daily ‘press release.’ His latest observation is in itself an admission, as he turns his attention to fellow multi millionaire, the hapless Michael Ballack:

He told the Murdoch rag, The Sun:
‘It is hard for Ballack – Chelsea is special. I’m convinced he would have had an easier time at Manchester United or Arsenal.

‘They benefit from a well-balanced team – he would have been a better fit there.

‘Here, we depend on our individuals so maybe Chelsea is not the right club for Ballack.’

Doesn’t give much of an indication of team spirit, does it? Drogba’s latest quote in a series of relentless and at times contradictory statements gives the impression of a prima donna ridden Chelski dressing room ill at ease with itself.

The shockwaves of the earthquake that was Jose Matalan’s departure are still being felt around Stamford Bridge and there cannot be a better time for our resurgent side to take on Abramovich, Kenyon, Grant et al and guage just how far our side has come since the auto-pilot 3-0 drubbing they gave us down there when the last season kicked off.

Manchester City has tremendous momentum right now and there is a winning mentality and spirit exploding out of Fortress Eastlands.

It is clear that Svennis has calmly created a hard working, team focused mentality in our squad and there is an openness about the club who should be applauded for this week’s ‘Meet The Players’ public training that took place inside the stadium. The fans are getting behind City in their droves and the game on saturday will be no exception.

We have nothing to fear and nothing to lose and records such as Chelski’s unbeaten home run are there to be broken. The most entertaining and defensively sound Manchester City side in decades could be the team to do it.
