The Manchester Evening News reports Stuart Pearce as saying he is chasing four potential transfer targets. Negotiations for three players, it claims, are at an advanced stage while negotiations for the other player have just started.
It is thought one of the deals ‘at an advanced stage’ is the one to bring Greek star, Georgis Samaras, to Eastlands. City are thought to have agreed terms with the player and increased their offer to his club, Heerenveen, in the wake of interest being shown by Everton.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Lyon are preparing to bid £7 million for City captain, Sylvain Distin. With Distin stalling on a new deal at City it is thought that the club might seek to cash in on the player. Hopefully this is little more than the Mail filling newspaper space as Distin is one of the few we can ill afford to lose.

Reports in The Sun (ok credibility check here) suggest that City midfielder, Joey Barton, is stalling on signing a new deal at the club because they won’t meet his £35,000 a week wage demands. Utter tosh for me this one, probably because of the source. I can’t believe Joey could demand £35,000 per week anyway as yet and from what I hear he is fully committed to a career at City. There have been disturbing rumours that he turned down a move to Boro recently but I cannot see City sanctioning his departure when we are crying out for midfielders.
