City Transfer Rumours Vol31 & a half

Here’s the best and worst of this week’s rumours – pretty depressing reading in no particular order of inaccuracy:

INCOMING:

Lomano LuaLua:

The 25-year-old former Newcastle forward has been linked with Manchester City and West Ham, having just one year left on current contract at Pompey. Good on his day, but can’t produce it consistently. Not a lot to choose between him and Crofty in my view and not worth a big money deal.

Ian Harte:

Republic of Ireland international defender linked with summer move to Manchester City. Pretty decent player in his early years at Leeds; not sure what sort of nick he’s in at the moment, but will be relatively cheap. Could be a shrewd buy if he’s fit and injury-free.

Souleymane Diawara:

Manchester City and Portsmouth are being linked with Sochaux defender. The French club want around £5.5m for the 27-year-old central defender.Spurs and Newcastle United also reported to be in hunt.

Do we need a central defender?

Are we likely to pay £5.5m ? ……….next !

Ousmane Dabo:

City seem to have missed out on French international Ousmane Dabo after failing to agree terms with the 29-year-old Lazio midfielder. As Dabo’s agent is Willie McKay ( Barton’s agent), that’s probably not a bad thing.

Sidney Govou:

Apparently, the pacy Lyon striker (27) is a City and Fulham target according to his agent. He can play on the right in midfield or as a striker – sounds a bit too like Vassell to me – it’s holding midfielders we need at the moment.

OUTGOING:

Joey Barton:

MONACO are reported to be interested in Joey Barton ,but not for another six months in the January window – funny that no decent English clubs are clamouring to sign him – eh Joey !

Bradley Wright-Phillips:

QPR reportedly interested in signing BWP on a season long loan. Probably not a bad move as Bradley has fallen down pecking order and with arrival of Dickov, he’s probably not going to get to many opportunities at City this season.

Danny Mills:

Looks to be Aston Villa bound, although a reported fee of around £1m may put Deadly Doug off the deal. If it goes through Mills would link up with his old Leeds boss, David O’Blarney.
