City Watch Out – Spurs Are About

Is City’s securing of at least a second placed finish a forgone conclusion…?

We might still be chasing the Rags tail but we certainly need to make sure our own tail is covered…Resurgent Spurs are hot on the trail for second place and the way in which Gareth Bale is firing at the moment we had better watch out!

It would be of little surprise if City had allegedly placed a bid on the table in North London in an attempt to secure Bale’s signature in the summer, similarly if Real Madrid are supposed to have gone and done the same thing. Mind you, Real Madrid are after nearly everyone right now in readiness for the next season, maybe this is because they know that CR7 is going to go walkabout and they will obviously need to secure some pretty hot stuff if they are to mount a sustained challenge to Barcelona after The Ladyboy Riverdancer and Mourinho have gone.

Bale will be the key for Spurs if City are to be overhauled. We have been so intent on chasing the Rags but we now constantly need to look behind us. Accepted, Chelsea were there and we appear to have fended them off but now it’s Spurs and they have a lot more get up and go about them than what looks to be a demoralised Chelsea.

Never mind Arsene Wenger saying that Arsenal (Spurs’ Sunday opponents) could take second place, it’s Tottenham and us right now and with Spurs only 5 points behind, we need to step up the pace like we did against Chelsea last weekend.

AVB is riding high this season and most of this is down to their 23 year old Welshman who according to his manager is ‘breathtaking’ and an ‘inspiration’ to his squad. Spurs could yet become something of a nightmare for The Blues this season in my opinion. All it takes is for City to lose or even draw one more game and opportunity would knock for the lilywhites if they themselves can keep winning.

I feel confident when I look at City’s squad and now we have the young likes of the born again and revitalised Jack Rodwell firing and running around together with Matija Nastasic, who I hasten to add always seems to be in the right place at the right time. I would say we are in fighting mode. Zabaleta, Milner and Silva are in awesome form and lets hope this is maintained for the rest of the campaign and Spurs are kept at at bay…if the title has gone, then losing second place is not negotiable.

Spurs versus City towards the end of next month has a firecracker look about it and if perchance we have drawn with or lost to the Rags two weeks earlier, that would be the signal to Spurs to go ‘hell for leather’ in a bid to knock us out of second spot. I hope, as does every other Citizen in the land, that we fight to the end and finish the season as strongly as possible, but it certainly won’t be easy.
