Burnley have added 18-year-old hot prospect John Guidetti to their ranks in a bid to climb back into football’s top tier in a one month loan deal.
The Swedish Under-21 international came to the attention of Burnley’s management team after scoring a sublime hat-trick for City’s EDS at Turf Moor in March.
‘We noticed him against our reserves when we had a very strong side out,’ said Burnley manager Brian Laws. ‘He did very well and scored a hat-trick against us and ran our centre-halves all over the place.
‘We couldn’t believe how old he was. He’s only a young boy but he’s got a man’s body and a mental strength.
‘Since then we’ve been keeping very close tabs on him. We wanted to get him on loan to get a good close look at him and see if he could bring something else to us.’
Guidetti is eligible to make his Clarets debut against Derby County this Saturday.
