Manchester City booked their place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup after beating Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 at Hillsborough on Wednesday and Riyad Mahrez was praised by supporters for delivering a man-of-the-match performance.
No player had more shots and whipped in more accurate crosses over the 90 minutes than the 29-year-old. Mahrez was a constant attacking threat, made numerous chances for his teammates and was unlucky not to score given how many opportunities he had on the night.

Yes Mendy deserves it, but that doesn't mean that Mahrez was poor he was very good, if he was a bit lucky he would score a goal

Mahrez is enjoying a prolific campaign in his second season at the Etihad Stadium. He’s made 36 appearances in all competitions, scoring and creating 23 goals in 2019/20. The 29-year-old has contributed 17 goals in 22 Premier League games and has benefitted from regular football due to Leroy Sane’s long-term injury.
Fans were delighted with his contribution at Hillsborough and will no doubt hope he can deliver another impressive performance when City lock horns with Manchester United on Sunday.
