Well what a funny old game this is, and what a difference 90 minutes can make.

Earlier this week there were calls for Pearce to go, but after this afternoon’s 2 – 0 win against an equally under-achieving West Ham, Psycho has got himself some breathing space and the wolves have retreated from his door… for now anyway.

The game wasn’t a classic by any means, but who cares, the result was all important today; just ask Alan Pardew who tonight has probably swapped places with Pearce as the manager most likely for an early bath – those ‘fantastic’ Argentinian signings don’t look quite so clever now do they.

A couple of special mentions:

1) Samaras for proving that he does have the ability to become a top class premiership marksman

2) Ishmael Miller – awesome performance by the young lad and proof again that the Academy lads are one of City’s best assets

And I can’t really forget to mention the Gaffer – well done Psycho, it’s been a really tough week…. take tomorrow off – you’ve earned it !
