Jason Denayer has today penned a new five year deal at the Etihad with Manchester City.

The 20 year old Belgium international spent 2014-15 out on loan with Scottish Premiership Champions Celtic to gain experience, and he did pick up a number of individual awards for his performances in his 44 games for them across all competitions, and he returned six goals.

The SPL Young Player of the Year and Celtic’s own Young Player of the Year for 2014-15 was an unused substitute for his country four times last year, making his debut against Israel in March and now having three caps in total.

Belgium manager Marc Wilmots expects big things from him in the future and has been quoted as saying about our young defender.

‘Jason is always calm. I`ve never seen him nervous; he has a lot of confidence. He has enormous potential and if he continues to evolve at the rate he is progressing, he can be world class.’

Denayer is now set to fly out to meet up with the first team in their training camp in Australia.
