Lowly Liverpool, currently basking in the afterglow off their one nil win at Bolton Wanderers are reported to be weighing up a cut price bid gfor Shaun Wright-Phillips…

And by cut-price we mean that Wrighty is in the final year of his second City contract.

Every rags favourite rag, the dreadful Daily Mirror reckons SWP is open to a move to Roy Hodgson’s essentially rubbish team and many Blues will see at as not unexpected but a great pity if Shaunie goes.

Aside of the occasional hysterical outbursts from his dad Ian Wright, the City and England winger has maintained his wish to fight for a place in Roberto Mancini’s plans, yet surely would be the first to admit that when that chance has come, to date he’s not fulfilled the rich promise his talent and fighting spirit deserve.

That said, VMC would love nothing better than to see an on form Wrighty burst into life this week and stake a claim in the starting XI against the rags next Wednesday night.

Should City sell SWP to Liverpool? Give us a shout both here and in the VMC City Chat Forum.
