Having woken up this morning and discovered that steam was no longer coming out of my ears, I reflected on last nights result in the cold light of day and wondered, did Rob Styles cost us the game?
When I thought about it, in the first 12 minutes we were all over Newcastle like a rash they hardly got a kick of the ball, then we were awarded a penalty (warranted or not) we go 1-0 up.
Now if Rob Styles issues a yellow instead of red what happens then, their heads drop and we steamroller them into a heavy defeat. In reality what happens, he issues a Red, they go down to ten and they are incensed, roll up their sleeves and really get stuck in, we go into cruise mode thinking this is easy and pay the price.
Are there any positives to come out of last nights game well yes I think there was.

2.Our 3-4-3 formation in the last ten minutes. (or was it 3-3-4)
What are the negatives:
1.Don’t play players who have travelled half way round the world.
2.Why was Hamman selected in a game where we need to put the accent on attack?
3.4-5-1 is questionable in this type of game
4.We should have really upped the tempo after the sending off.
If we adopt the same attitude against Stoke we could be in for another torrid time we have to strike the right tempo from the off and not to take our foot off the gas if we go one up.
