mcfc.co.uk, the official Manchester City website, is reporting that City have accepted an offer of £4.5 million for Sylvain Distin.

Distin, who is out of contract next summer, has been holding out on agreeing a new deal with the blues in the hope that a big club would move in for him. However, with the new season almost upon us, it seems he has had to settle for boro as the big boys show no interest.

In my opinion £4.5 million represents good value for a player in the last year of his contract and I don’t blame the board for accepting. However it would be nice if the manager saw some of this money for a change and the club moved forward instead of selling its best assets and replacing them with Bosmans that no-one but City want.
