Do City Really Need Another Striker?

Bellamy, Jo, Caicedo, Benjani, Sturridge, Evans, Bojinov, Robinho, Vassell. Do we really need to add another to the long list of strikers Manchester City all ready have.

It is fair to say that Sturridge, Evans, Caicedo and Jo are all young but with the formation that Hughes insists of playing we surely have enough cover for that lone striker role?

Reports in the papers this morning suggest that Hughes is preparing bids for Reading`s Doyle, Robbie Keane and Chelsea`s Drogba. This in connection with Hughes`s intent to still bring Santa Cruz in is rather baffling to why Hughes is not trying to strengthen the defence but an attack that is the second top scorers in the premiership.

I still rate Jo, even if he has found out that if he`s not at his best he won`t play. Benjani and Bellamy are proven talent in the premiership and Sturridge is certainly one for the future. If Hughes insists of bringing Santa Cruz in then I fear that in two weeks time when Bojinov is in the frame for a first team return, Bellamy or Santa Cruz will have to cope with warming the bench.

Its difficult to keep every member of the squad happy but unless Hughes gets rid of the likes of Vassell and maybe send some of the young guys out on loan, then the harmony of the squad could suffer.

If you were Mark Hughes who would you send packing? Have your say on our busy forums or comment in the box at the bottom of this article.
