Doghouse for Riera

City winger Albert Riera reportedly got himself into a spot of bother recently when meeting an old pal from Spain who had flown in to be part of Riera’s 24th birthday celebrations.

Whilst waiting for his amigo at London Stansted Airport he spotted him trying to come through arrivals and saw his friend being questioned by customs officials for allegedly carrying a small dog within his hand luggage.

Unfortunately, in trying to come to his friend’s aid, Riera became embroiled in argument with airport security staff, for which he was arrested and later fined ?115.

A spokesman for Essex police said: ‘A 24-year-old man from Manchester was arrested on suspicion of assault and causing a public order offence following an incident in the international arrival area of Stansted airport at 10.10 on Friday evening. He was given a fixed penalty notice for disorder and regarding the assault allegation released without charge.’

After City’s recent dogged performances, let’s hope Riera and the rest of the team hound Fulham all round the C.O.M.S tomorrow and don’t finish the game with their tails between their legs, otherwise they’ll all have a dog’s life once Psycho’s finished with them. We’ve seen enough howlers this season !
