The Barçelona rumours will not go away with Dani Alves the latest in Spain to say bring on the quicksilver striker to the Nou Camp. Taking a scattergun look across the newswires today there’s everything from a loan move to a £33 million deal already sealed.
Yet this correspondent reckons it would be a shame for The Blues to lose such a talented 25 year old player who when fully fit has the capabilities to set any game alight. For me, all he needs is a goal.
The hardest task for any foreign player coming in to the Premier League is adjusting to the pace and intensity, nevermind the culture and the climate.
Robinho has got an erratic year under his belt and I for one would like to see what he can do with an extended run in amongst the high calibre signings that Mark Hughes has made this year. But he’s got a job on to make that happen.

Pele Bellamy de Cardiff has been an absolute revelation yet the fact remains that he has a history of knee knack and having a squad familiar, established option like Robinho to come in seems infinitely preferable during a long season than bringing in another signing this January.
Hand on heart I don’t think Robinho is essentially a Mark Hughes type of player.
Sparky likes flair but also someone who gets stuck in and tracks back. This City side have so far this season learnt how to defend as a unit and the likes of a fully fit Martin Petrov have realised that if you don’t get in amongst it, you ain’t starting.
It’s a contentious debate for Planet Blue. Should we hang on to a showman to supplement a squad forging a newfound never say die mentality? Shades of City and Rodney Marsh? Of course, we also need to factor in the lad’s feelings, yet he regularly speaks highly of MCFC life.
There is another side to the Robson De Souza coin that doesn’t often get that much of a mention. He is very often portrayed in the media as something of a mard arse but many are the tales around Carrington of a mischevious, bubbly character in the Shaun Wright-Phillips mould who can lift a room simply by walking into it.

People might be asking how Robi is going to get back in given Craig’s form, but things do change…he comes in and always does his work with a smile on his face.
