England boss Gareth Southgate has been busy today. Not only has he extended his contract by another four years but he has also named his 25-man squad for England’s upcoming UEFA Nations League games in Croatia and Spain.
Down From Four To The Lonesome Three
Manchester City is typically represented by four, but on this occasion City’s midfielder, Fabian Delph, who has missed the last couple of games has been omitted due to a niggling muscle complaint.
Our regular stalwarts, John Stones, Kyle Walker, and Raheem Sterling, have, as one would expect been included.
All three have been flying all season for Pep Guardiola’s side, and so there is no reason why they can’t continue in the same vein when representing the Three Lions.
Former Manchester City striker Jadon Sancho (18) now at Borussia Dortmund receives his first senior call-up.
